Terms of Service

1. Overview

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Deutsch Bridge AI mobile application and website (collectively, the "Service"), operated by DataFiora IT — Pratyushi Roy Oishee ("we", "us", or "our"), Falltorstraße 2, 63486 Bruchköbel, Germany.

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. In Germany and certain other EU member states, users under 16 require parental or legal guardian consent. By using the Service, you represent that you meet the applicable age requirement or have obtained proper consent.

3. Account

• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
• You must provide a valid email address for authentication.
• One account per person. Sharing account credentials is not permitted.
• We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. Subscription Plans

Deutsch Bridge AI offers the following subscription tiers:

All prices are in EUR and include applicable taxes. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled.

5. Billing and Cancellation

Web Payments (Stripe)

• Subscriptions purchased via our website renew monthly or annually as selected at purchase.
• You may cancel at any time by contacting hello@deutschbridge.app.
• Upon cancellation, you retain access until the end of the current billing period. No partial refunds are issued for unused time.
• Refunds for web payments are handled on a case-by-case basis. Contact us within 14 days of purchase.

Right of Withdrawal (EU / Germany)

If you are an EU consumer, you have the right to withdraw from this contract within 14 days of purchase, unless you have already started using the service and expressly agreed to waive the withdrawal right in exchange for immediate access. Contact hello@deutschbridge.app within this period to request a refund.

6. AI-Generated Content

Deutsch Bridge AI uses artificial intelligence (Google Gemini) to generate language learning content, including grammar explanations, vocabulary examples, conversation practice, and pronunciation feedback.

• Accuracy: AI-generated content may contain errors. We do not guarantee 100% accuracy of any AI response.
• Not a substitute: This app supplements but does not replace formal language instruction, certified courses, or official exam preparation.
• No official affiliation: Deutsch Bridge AI is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or associated with the Goethe-Institut, telc GmbH, or any other examination body. Practice material follows the CEFR levels (A1–B2) and is not an official exam paper or certification.

7. Community Content

• You retain ownership of content you post in the Community section.
• By posting, you grant Deutsch Bridge AI a non-exclusive, worldwide licence to display your content within the app for learning purposes.
• You must not post offensive, harmful, or illegal content.
• We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these Terms.

8. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the application.
• Attempt to bypass subscription restrictions or payment verification.
• Use the Service to generate content for purposes unrelated to language learning.
• Share, resell, or redistribute subscription access.
• Abuse the AI tutor by attempting to generate harmful, offensive, or misleading content.

9. Intellectual Property

All content, design, and code of the Deutsch Bridge AI application are the intellectual property of DataFiora IT — Pratyushi Roy Oishee and are protected by copyright and applicable intellectual property laws. The curriculum content (vocabulary, grammar lessons, example sentences) is original work.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, DataFiora IT shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to: exam results, immigration outcomes, or employment decisions based on language skills acquired through the app.

11. Service Availability

We strive for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service requires an internet connection for AI features. Scheduled maintenance, API provider outages (Supabase, Google Gemini), or force majeure events may temporarily affect availability.

12. Termination

• By you: You may delete your account at any time by contacting hello@deutschbridge.app. We will delete your data within 30 days per our Privacy Policy.
• By us: We may suspend or terminate your account for violation of these Terms, with or without prior notice.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify users through the app or via email. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Hanau, Hessen, Germany.
